As we enjoy the US government shutdown, we should thank the evil billionaire Koch brothers for helping bring it about.
So what’s a few hundred thousand furloughed employees, a bunch of hungry kids on WIC benefits, and some closed national parks? Charles & David Koch – and their mustache-twirling peers – need to make even more billions, and they certainly don’t want that Muslim Kenyan’s healthcare bill to fully enact, help the serfs and maybe sway them to the Democrat ranks.
Through the use of secret bank accounts and political action committees, the Kochs have successfully infiltrated the House and Senate with enough of their flying monkeys that they have been able to orchestrate this shutdown and – possibly worse – a default on our debts by not raising the debt ceiling. Their strategy seems to be to blow the whole US economy to pieces and rebuild it to their own specifications.
While we still have vestiges of democracy left, we need to get together and vote out the Tea Party loonies, end gerrymandering, and push through a constitutional amendment getting rid of that awful Citizens United.
There may be slivers of hope as some of the Tea party econo-terrorists are beginning to face some backlash back at home, according to The Washington Post.
As long as there are politicians, big money will have big power. But as citizens in this great country we can enact regulations and barriers to prevent us from becoming a total oligarchy.
