By far, the biggest political story this week has been the continuing scandal in New Jersey over the closing of lanes on the George Washington Bridge, in what appears to be an instance of vile political retribution by Republican Governor Chris Christie’s administration.
It is the biggest story, that is, unless you float mindlessly in the conservative “news” bubble. FOX & Friends morning show uber-twit Steve Doocy was particularly annoyed that the lame-stream media was highlighting the Christie scandal at the expense of focusing on the REALLY important news of former Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ Obama-slamming new book. Douchey Doocy whined, “I was watching one news channel yesterday, you would think that this would be a big story… all about the bridge thing… with Christie.”
The right-wing media talking heads that are forced to actually acknowledge the existence of the bridge scandal are engaging in verbal jujitsu by instantly comparing the story to one – or ALL – of the treasured screeching points of the right: the IRS (non-) scandal, Fast & Furious, and their undeniable favorite knee-jerk, “Benghazi!”
On FAUX News, Darth Vader himself (to Dick Cheney’s evil Emperor), Karl Rove, said “the amount of attention paid to Chris Christie makes the coverage of Benghazi at the same time and the coverage of the IRS pale in comparison.”
Do you remember that conservaturd that keeps lying about the existence of a “war on Christmas”? Well Christo-fascist, card-carrying member of the US Christian Taliban, and frequent FOX contributor Todd Starnes took to social media to spread his manure of distraction:
GOP National Committee chair-weasel Reince Priebus praised Governor Christie’s lengthy “apology” press conference, and then squeaked, “now only if Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton would give us 111 seconds of that, would we find out some things we want to find out about Obamacare, Benghazi, the IRS.?”
The Republicans and conservative media must really think Chris Christie is in deep doodoo if the best opinion they can come up with is “BENGHAZI!!!!!”
