In the wake of the release of the Senate’s investigation into the use of torture by the U.S. during the Cheney administration, the Dark One himself is slithering onto the news shows poopooing the report and vehemently defending the use of the “enhanced interrogation techniques” (EITs).
On NBC’s Meet the Press, the former Vice President hissed about the criticism of CIA torture, whipping out the old Republican verbal jui jitsu, and falsely equating the 9/11 terrorist attack with state-sponsored torture:
“With respect to trying to define that as torture, I come back to the proposition torture was what the al Qaeda terrorists did to 3,000 Americans on 9/11. There’s no comparison between that and what we did with the respect to enhanced interrogation.”
The crap logic and fear-mongering might work on the knuckledragging, flag-waving base of the GOP, but the rest of the world is on to your bullshit, Dick.
