This is your resistance podcast. On this episode it has been nearly 6 months since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. We check its status and with friends who live there. It was St. Patrick’s Day this past weekend. We discuss the history of the discrimination Irish undocumented immigrants faced once upon a time in the United States. From Andrew McCabe’s ousting, to election news, to Trump trade wars, we run down the the weekend’s headlines. We remind everyone that regulations are protections, be them for humans or animals. Of course, under this administration neither people nor animals have protections. Amazingly, American hero, veteran and Senator Tammy Duckworth will very soon be the first U.S. senator in history to give birth while in office. She will also be the first to be punished for doing so. We have good news about DeAndre Harris, the black man whom we saw the video of being brutally beaten after the tiki torch white nationalist rally last August in Charlottesville. Finally, there is a primary election coming up in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District. Progressive Marie Newman is running against fake Democrat, Rep. Dan Lipinski. Be sure to vote when and where you can! #resist
